STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES -
Graduates of this program will have the opportunity to:
• Distinguish among the fields of psychology, sociology, and anthro-
pology, including theoretical perspectives, methodology, and levels
of analysis.
• Apply the three major sociological perspectives including function-
alism, conflict theory, and symbolic interactionism to the analysis
of social structure and human behavior.
• Apply at least three sociological tools/concepts/principles towards
improvement of life their family, friendship for their family, friend-
ship groups, workplace, fellow students and or other persons with
developmental disabilities.
• Apply the knowledge, skills, judgment and ethical standards of
direct support services to persons with developmental disabilities
in an applied human services setting.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the skills and abilities required to
become certified as a Developmental Support Technician.
