STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICE PROGRAMS
The College provides a variety of personal support serv-
ices to students to assist them in becoming more aware of
their potential and in planning and achieving their educa-
tional goals. Students are provided counseling, academic
advisement, testing, career planning, job placement and
financial assistance.
The Nevada System of Higher Education is committed to
the support of the diverse and changing communities of the
state. The Community College provides an open, academic
environment where students of all ages and backgrounds
can discover their potential and achieve their life goals.
The Community College of Southern Nevada exists to
create opportunities that empower its students to change
their lives for the better.
DIVISION OF WORKFORCE AND
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Students seeking educational opportunities, other than
specific credit degrees or certifications offered at CCSN
main campuses, have access to additional options through
the Division of Workforce and Economic Development
Programs. The Division of Workforce and Economic
Development offers credit and non-credit classes not typi-
cally offered in a traditional, semester-long, class room
instruction format to meet the needs of our changing econ-
omy, emerging workforce, business & industry and new
technologies.
The Division is broken into twelve workforce specialty
areas that include: Community & Personal Enrichment;
Adult Literacy & Language; Manufacturing &
Transportation; Construction; Education & Government;
Business Assessment & Consulting; Hospitality & Gaming;
Apprenticeship & Prisons; Fire, Police, Security &
Emergency Medical Services (EMS); American Heart
Healthcare Programs; Service Sector-Retail, Banking,
Insurance & Real Estate; Occupational Health & Safety
Programs.
Classes are offered via Distance Education, at company
worksites and at Learning and Satellite Centers located
throughout the Las Vegas Valley and at rural locations.
