Distance Education Video Courses
There are two types of Distance Education Video Courses
– Interactive Video and Streaming Video. Interactive Video
courses are assigned a class and specific time period. There
is a separate listing of this type of course. Please refer to
that section for information on where you must go to attend
this type of video course. Interactive Video courses can not
be viewed at a student’s home. There are three options to

times on the CCSN Distance Education web site.
2. Streaming Video Online – Go to the CCSN Distance
Education web site and there will be a link for
Streaming Video courses. This link will provide
directions to watching the videos through your
Internet connection and computer. Please be advised
that if you have a slower Internet connection you may
have trouble viewing the videos through this option.
3. Students can purchase a CD from the Cheyenne
Campus Bookstore that will enable a student to view
the videos from their computer without having to
worry about Internet connection speed.
Textbook Information
Textbooks for Distance Education courses can only be
purchased from Cheyenne Campus Bookstore (651-4645)
or online at www.efollett.com. If ordering the books online
please allow at least two weeks for delivery.
How Do I Take a Test.
Testing arrangements will vary from class to class.
Testing options used by instructors include online exams,
on-campus classroom proctored exams, and at the Testing
Center located on each CCSN campus. If a student lives in
a remote community they will sometimes have to make
arrangements with the instructor to take a test at a remote
site with an approved proctor. Students should check their
syllabus for details about testing for each course.
VETERANS’ AFFAIRS SERVICES
If you are a veteran, or the dependent of a veteran and
believe you many be eligible for Department of Veterans’
Affairs Educational Benefits, please visit our office on the
Cheyenne campus before beginning any registration proce-
dures or you can call 651-4046 or visit the VA website at
www.ccsn/admissions/va.aspx. Eligible students requesting
the advance payment of educational benefits must present
completed claim packages to the Veterans’ Affairs Office no
later than approximately 45 days before the semester
begins. Please consult a current Class Schedule for exact
deadline dates.
The main purpose of this office is to certify enrollment of
those veterans and their dependents using veterans’ educa-
tional benefits. The office staff works as a liaison between the
Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA) and students at CCSN.
The office assists the veteran in application process, comple-
tion of necessary VA documentation, evaluation of previous
received education, dissemination of VA policies regarding
degrees and courses acceptable for assurance of benefits.
Once a student has been established as eligible for
Veterans’ Affairs (VA) benefits, they must be enrolled in a
degree or certificate program. To receive monthly benefits
checks, which will include a subsistence allowance, the stu-
dent must be enrolled at least at the half-time or six credits.
Enrollment at a rate less than half-time will pay reimburse-
ment for tuition only. During the summer semesters, stu-
dents must consult the Veteran’s Affairs Office for the
appropriate pay scale.
