Welcome to the School of Advanced & Applied Technologies!

 

The School of Advanced and Applied Technologies is comprised of three departments, Applied Technologies, Computing and Engineering Technology and Media Technologies and offers a variety of programs for students at CSN.  All programs lead to either an Associates in Applied Science (AAS) or a Certificate of Achievement (CA) and prepare students to meet the high-tech training demands of Southern Nevada’s workforce.

The Applied Technologies department offers programs with emphases in Air Conditioning, Automotive, Building, Mechanical and Welding technologies along with Aviation, Building Inspection, Computer Aided Drafting, Construction Management/Surveying, Environmental Safety & Health, Interior Design and Ornamental Horticulture.

The Computing and Engineering Technology department offers programs with emphases in Databases, Geographic Information Systems, LAN technology, Networking, Network Security, Programming, Slot Repair, Telecommunications, and User Support.

The Media Technologies department offers programs in Animation, Commercial Photography, Graphic Technology, and Videography and Film.

The school offers courses on all CSN campuses, both during the day and evening with selected Saturday offerings. All programs are accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and several are in the process of achieving accreditation by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

All programs emphasize hands-on learning along with theory and are offered in well-equipped classroom/laboratories. CSN also provides computer laboratory facilities that are open seven days a week to further assist students who need additional time.
