Tenure and Professional Advancement Committee

The Professional Advancement Committee:

  • Is a standing committee of the Faculty Senate 
  • Reviews all applications for column advancement on the academic salary schedule
  • Applies the Professional Advancement Program as outlined in the NSHE Board of Regent's Handbook and the Procedures and Guidelines Manual.

The Professional Advancement Program:

  • Is the mechanism by which an academic faculty member can advance to a higher level of compensation
    • faculty holding a .50 FTE or above who are on the academic faculty salary schedule and are tenure track.
  • Advancement can occur following completion of
    • an advanced degree program
    • graduate level coursework
    • occupationally related coursework
    • combination
