Office of the Registrar

Planning Your Schedule:

  • Before registering for classes, take into consideration the following:
  • Are you able to study adequately for each course?
  • Are you following the appropriate degree sheet and catalog year?
  • Are you aware of the required course sequences?
  • Is the course you are planning to taking transferable to the university you are planning to attend?
  • Are your writing/verbal skills adequate for college work?
  • Have you planned the courses you will be taking over the next few semesters?
  • Do you have alternative courses in mind if the course you were planning to take is full?
  • Do the courses you plan to take require any placement exams?
  • How Long Will it Take Me to Earn an Associates Degree? Bachelors Degree?

If you take approximately 30 - 32 credits of appropriate courses a year, you will receive an Associate Degree in two (2) years or a Bachelors Degree in four (4) years. At this pace, you will need to complete about ten (10) courses a year.

Generally, it often takes a student longer than two or four years to earn their degrees. This is often due to changes in a student's major, availability of classes, and other demands on his/her time.

If you are planning to attend part time, taking two courses in the fall and spring and one course in the summer will keep you on course for graduation in four (4) years for an Associate Degree and eight (8) years for a Bachelors Degree.

If you have these questions, have you made an appointment with a counselor?
