The department currently offers studies in sixteen languages: American Sign language, Arabic, Chinese, ESL, Filipino, French, German, Modern Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Thai. Because it is the mission of the department to respond to the needs of the community, additional offerings will surely become available in the future. The Department of International Languages is the home of the brand new Associate of Arts Degree in Latina/o Studies. Other associate degrees are currently available for work in ASL, Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish. There are also certificate programs in ASL and Business German. In addition, we have dedicated labs for instruction and practice, from morning into the evening, at the West Charleston and Cheyenne campuses, as well as a group of computers with specialized software at the Henderson Campus. If you would like to get in touch with us as a prospective student, part-time instructor, tutor or friend, please call our main number at 651-4007.
Sincerely,
Kenneth Umland, Department Chair |
