Preparation

  • Have a good idea; a focused idea; an innovative idea; need the money.

  • Clarify the purpose of your project and write a mission statement, define the scope of work to focus your funding search, determine the broad project goals, then identify the specific objectives that define how you will focus the work to accomplish these goals. 

  • Get permission and involvement of CSN's Office of Resource Development and the Resource Development Advisory Board. They know sources of funding and the grants process. Get their help on all technical details of the submission. CSN grant proposals require institutional signatures and are handled by a specific process.
  • Get agreement to the program from relevant staff and administrators. 

  • Determine who will work on the grant; coordinate team for development of plan of work, goals. Assign responsibilities.
  • Make sure all participants understand the rigors of the process and the commitment required of grant funding
