Young Pianists from any country are invited to compete in three divisions,
choosing the first movement of a concerto from the following list:

Competition Prizes
Junior (6 to 10 years of age)
First prize      $ 100
Second prize   $ 50  


Intermediate (11 to 15 years of age)
First prize      $ 200
Second prize   $ 100


Senior (l6 to 21 years of age)
First prize      $ 300
Second prize   $ 150


All prize winners will receive cash prizes and will perform the first movement
of their selected concerto at the Winners' Concert with the Nevada Chamber Symphony.

Senior Division winners will also receive scholarship credits
for music studies at the CSN Music Program.


Competition Guidelines
  1. The competition will consist of one round audition with the first movement of a concerto, including the cadenza.
  2. All the music is to be performed by memory and in their entirety from the selected list of concertos.
  3. Application to the competition constitutes acceptance of the contestant and their teachers of all rules and regulations.
  4. All decisions of the jury will be final and irrevocable.
  5. The winners are expected to perform at the Award Concert. May 18, 2008 at the Horn Theater, Cheyenne Campus CSN,
    with the same concerto and movement with which they auditioned.
  6. Any performer who is awarded with a prize forfeits its rights by not showing at the Winners' Concert.
  7. Financial responsibility for travel to the competition and final concert must be assumed by the contestant.
  8. The order of appearance of contestants will be determined by a drawing. All contestants must be present for the drawing.
  9. Contestants are responsible for their accompanist. Teachers are not allowed to accompany their own students.
  10. Each contestant will be notified by mail of their acceptance with a competition schedule.
  11. CSN will provide contestants with practice facilities for warm-up during the competition.
  12. Competition will be open to the public, although seating is limited.
  13. No substitutions will be accepted on the Concerto Competition's repertoire.
  14. First prize winners of the previous year can only compete in the following age level.
