CSN Research Assignment Hall of Fame
CSN College Library Services is interested in showcasing exceptional research-based classroom assignments developed by our faculty (full and part-time). Original, engaging assignments that challenge students while developing their information literacy skills are what we are looking for. Think you have such an assignment? Let the CSN librarians have a look, and your assignment just might end up in the CSN Research Assignment Hall of Fame.
Criteria for inclusion:
- Clarity of Assignment: clearly stated purpose supported by measurable student learning outcomes; reasonable time frame for due dates based upon understanding of resource availability at CSN and efficient use of student time; clear instructions in regard to length, citation formats, and acceptable types of resources.
- Use of active learning throughout the research assignment.
- Gives students the opportunity to think critically about particular resources and/or the research process in your field.
- Highlights the ethical use of information and academic integrity in research.
- Learning outcomes develop problem solving skills to support life long learning.
- Overall originality of the assignment in incorporating all of the above criteria.
