TECH PREP PROGRAM

The Tech Prep Program allows students to earn college credit for technical and occupational coursework completed in high school.  High school juniors and seniors enrolled in an articulated Tech Prep course at their high school can earn CSN credit upon completion of the course.  They must be enrolled in the course for a full year, earn a grade of “A” or “B”, complete a special Tech Prep registration form, and pay a non-refundable fee of $10 per course.  Applications are available through all southern Nevada Tech Prep high school instructors in the spring of each year.

In 2007, 1,606 Tech Prep students from 37 Southern Nevada high schools received  8,195 CSN college credits.  776 seniors and 830 juniors received credit.   126 females and 28 males received credit in non-traditional courses. 

Students completed 2,349 classes comprising 58 different course areas articulated with the Clark County and Lincoln County school districts. Savings for Tech Prep students totaled $487,602.50 plus the cost of textbooks.
