What is Tech Prep?

Tech Prep is a program which gives high school students the opportunity to earn college credit for approved Career & Technical Education (CTE) high school electives at no cost to the student. 

Tech Prep is a partnership between CSN and participating high schools in Clark, Lincoln and Nye County School Districts allowing students to simultaneously earn high school and college credits that have been approved through a formal articulation agreement.

Why Take Tech Prep Classes?

  • Tech Prep students have a head start on their college education and career plans.
  • Tech Prep students save time and money by fulfilling degree requirements while still in high school.
  • Tech Prep provides a pathway for high-skill, high-wage and high demand careers.

How Can I Get College Credit Now?

  • Enroll in an eligible Tech Prep class at your high school. 
  • In your junior or senior year submit the Tech Prep application by the deadline.
  • Earn a grade of “B” or better in both semesters of the class.

Improvement Act of 2006 (Perkins IV) in cooperation with the College of
Southern Nevada and the Nevada Department of Education.
