POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Nevada System of Higher Education and its Board of Regents invites interest in the position of President of the College of Southern Nevada (CSN).  The President is the Chief Executive Officer of the College, reports to the Chancellor of the Nevada System of Higher Education and is accountable through the Chancellor to the Board of Regents.

CSN is a rapidly growing, comprehensive, multi-campus community college and is the largest higher education institution in the state.  It has served the diverse population of southern Nevada since 1971. CSN is located on three main campuses in residential areas of Las Vegas, has a service area of 2 million people and is 5 hours by car from Southern California and Los Angeles. The city lies in a valley surrounded by scenic mountains and has a year-round desert climate. Educating nearly 40,000 students each semester in over 100 fields of study, CSN offers more than 200 degrees and certificates, university transfer preparation, occupational training, continuing education, developmental education, counseling and guidance.

We seek qualified candidates with executive leadership experience and an earned master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent experience.  Preferred qualifications include a demonstrated commitment to diversity, an earned doctorate from a regionally accredited higher education institution, at least 5 years executive leadership experience in higher education, especially a comprehensive community college, and appropriate teaching experience.  Success managing complex budgets, strategic planning experience, verifiable track record of developing alternative revenue streams and an open and collaborative leadership style are also desired.
