Recycling and the Environment                 

The Ad Hoc Committee on Recycling and the Environment was formed December 2007. 
The purpose of the committee is to:

  • Advocate for and encourage an effective and responsible recycling program
  • Research existing college and university recycling programs for applicable program components
  • Investigate resource (financial and personnel) needs for implementing a recycling program at CSN
  • Identify recyclable materials on CSN campuses and learning centers 
  • Locate local vendors offering recycling and collection services
  • Create strategies to promote acceptance and participation by all members of the college community
  • Research grant money sources for start up support
  • Report findings and make recommendations to the President

Mission of the recycling program:

Reduce waste, promote the recycling of materials, and maintain and promote clean and environmentally conscious campuses.
