Chemistry Placement Test
Pre-requisites for CHEM 121 changed in the 2009-2010 (and forward) General Catalog
CHEM 121 Prerequisites: CHEM 103 or CHEM 110 or a passing Chemistry Placement Exam (Note Students enrolled in CHEM 121 should have taken or have concurrent enrollment in MATH 127 or MATH 128)
To satisfy these requirements students can:
1. Take CHEM 103 PREPARATORY CHEMISTRY
2. Take CHEM 110 and 110L CHEMISTRY FOR HEALTH SCIENCES
3. Take the Chemistry Placement Exam – Charleston, Cheyenne, or Henderson Testing Center
4. If you have taken Chemistry at another institution you may seek a Pre-Requisite Wavier Form – Contact Cindy Shroba, Chair of Physical Sciences at Ph. 702-651-7427, Fax. 702-651-5818, West Charleston, Building H, Room 301-R
CHEMISTRY PLACEMENT TEST: (IN EFFECT at this time) Students who want to register for CHEM 121 may ask to take the CHEMISTRY PLACEMENT TEST – at the Charleston, Cheyenne, or Henderson Testing Center.
Students will be allowed to take the test once every six months and their score will be good for one year.
The minimum passing score will be 18 out of 44 for the students to enroll in CHEM 121 without taking the pre-requisite.
