CSN finishes as the top team to raise funds!

Contact: Lisa Bakke

College of Southern Nevada students, faculty and staff raised more than $9,000 to spread awareness about breast cancer and help save lives at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at the J.W. Marriot on Saturday, October 3.

So far, CSN Coyotes have raised $9,272.64, which will go to the American Cancer Society to help fight this disease. To learn more about how these dollars are spent to help fight breast cancer, go to http://makingstrides.acsevents.org/site/PageServer?pagename=MSABC_FY10_wherethedollarsgo

The CSN Coyotes had 139 members register to walk. This number represented students, staff, the Coyotes’ baseball and softball players, members of CSN’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter as well as many friends and family members.

CSN was able to top last year’s contributions of just over $9,000.  For the first time ever, CSN finished as the Top Team, gathering more donations than any other team at the walk. Saturday was a truly amazing day. The weather was perfect and the energy level was high.  Congratulations to the American Cancer Society, the walkers, and fellow supporters on a successful event!
