Strategic Planning Process and Timeline
August 2008: Establish committees and task priorities
September 2008: Planning cycle begins with
- Initial development of mission and vision statement, - completed by mid-October, due to Board of Regents for presentation at December 2008 meeting
- Needs assessment and environmental scan, - completed by October 30
- Draft strategic plan document, including strategic issues, goals, action plan, outcomes and measurement, - completed by mid-December, due to regents for presentation at February 2009 meeting
- Complete strategic planning document finalized, - completed by April 30, 2009 for presentation at regents’ meeting in June 2009.

September 2009: Evaluation and updating cycle begins
Annual evaluation of progress on plan, - submitted in spring of each year, covering the past calendar year, and impacting the budget process for the following year.
Cycles continue until 2010 when the NWCCU Interim Visit 2011 is based on the work of the plan.
