Requirements for Resume Submission
The following must be completed prior to scheduling an appointment for resume review:
- Students must complete the Career Services Intake form
- The resume draft must be submitted electronically to careerservices@csn.edu using the format requirements listed below and the Subject line: Resume with Student Id number in the body of the email
- Call campus for review
Document format requirements: Documents can be saved in Word, Word Perfect or Enriched text format. Career Services prefers students to not use the prefabricated templates located in Word due to the lack of flexibility.
If you are beginning from scratch, don’t worry with the formatting just hit return after each entry. We will help you create a custom format to best showcase your skills and abilities.
Basic Items to include in your resume document:
Demographic information:
Name, address, phone, email
Employment History: (start with the most recent job and work backwards)
Employer Name, City, State, Dates of employment, job title, describe your duties or functions
Education History: (start with the most recent education and work backwards)
School Name, major & degree, dates of attendance
Any special information (i.e. GPA, courses applicable to employment pursuits, student government, honors society)
Skills, Abilities and Personal Attributes:
Computer skills, language skills, ability to operate specialized equipment, ability to perform complex tasks, specialized certifications, typing ability, attributes that are desirable in a candidate for the job (organization, team work, independence, reliability, flexibility, creativity, work ethics, etc.)
Resume review is available to current students and alumni only. Must provide student C# with your submission.
