1. Introduce the world of modern business, including historical perspectives.

4. Discuss business ethics, economics, accounting, management, marketing, technology, and other financial aspects of business.

(Note 1 – Case Study):
Each student will create a second life Avatar (See outside resources link for directions on creating an
Avatar).  Using the Avatar students will search for business related groups, sites, islands, and any information relating to this course.  Students will then be creating a business plan using the outline provided within WebCT.  As part of the group project students will use their avatars within secondlife to communicate along with the group discussion board in WebCT.  More details on how to work through this project will be provided within the group discussion boards and the course calendar. Students will be provided with a listing of other students from within this course, so this may be done as a group effort.  This will be demonstrated in your individual postings to the discussion board regarding your efforts within secondlife and as a group member.  Students will meet in a virtual classroom to discuss course projects and class materials, while their groups will build a business plan centered around the virtual world. .
