LATINO ALLIANCE
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Latino Alliance is to promote a prosperous environment within the College and the Community that is conducive to the advancement and empowerment of Latinos in Southern Nevada.
The goals of the Latino Alliance are to: 1) Enhance opportunities and services for Latino students; 2) Attract and retain qualified administrators, faculty, and classified Latino employees; 3) Foster the professional development of Latino staff; and 4) Articulate, support, and advocate for the collective and individual rights of Latino employees.

Latino Student Alliance presents: Beyond Hispanic Heritage Month
It will take place on Wednesday, November 23rd from 11:00 a. m. to 1:00 p.m. The Main Speaker Dr. Edith Fernandez will provide important information to our current and potential students. This is a FREE event and it is open to the public. Latino food and refreshments will also be provided for free! Gratis! Please call 651-5927 for more information.
Hispanic Student Union presents: Anger Management Workshop- In Spanish
It will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. on building "D" room: 216. Presented by Psychologist Gisela de la Rosa, "Como controlar sus emociones", Gratis. Please call 651-5930 for more information. Seating is limited.

C O M M U N I T Y BULLETIN BOARD
Toy Drive - Last date to donate is Dec. 1st
SAFE FAITH UNITED IS ACCEPTING DONATIONS OF BRAND NEW TOYS AND/OR FINANCIAL DONATIONS FOR OUR PROGRAM "WHEN PARENTS ARE GONE FOR CHRISTMAS" This program benefits children from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds who lost their mothers to homicide related to domestic violence in Nevada. Currently, we have over 250 children who meet this criteria. Last year, we provided toys to 125 children.
Socks and Gloves Drive - It is with great excitement that we invite you to collaborate with the CSN Trio Experience Club as they are launching a Socks and Gloves Drive to benefit high school homeless students in the Valley. The drive will begin on Monday, November 21, 2011 and will end on Monday, December 12, 2011.

We raised $1,865 on ticket sales! The funds will be equally divided to support the Latino Graduate Scholarships during the Latino Graduation Ceremony in 2012 and the Cipriano Chavez Book Voucher Program. Thank you all for your support!
