The top-ranked College of Southern Nevada Coyotes remained unbeaten with a 8-5 victory over Arizona Western College on Sunday to wrap up play in the 4th Annual Coyote Border Battle.

Baseball prodigy Bryce Harper hit his first collegiate home run in the victory, taking Matadors starter Tim Keller yard to start the bottom of the fifth inning. He finished 2-for-4 with a double, walk, run, and an RBI. Trevor Kirk was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two walks, and Trent Cook was 2-for-3 with a double to pace the Coyotes (4-0).

CSN starter Kenny McDowall tossed five strong innings, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out eight and walking none. Aaron Kurcz earned the save.

The Coyote bullpen surrendered four runs in the eighth inning, aided by three infield errors that allowed Arizona Western (0-4) to come back from an 8-1 deficit.

Karsten Strieby was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored to lead the Matadors.

The Coyotes travel to take on GateWay Community College in Mesa, Ariz. on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
