Harper, Campbell go deep in DH sweep of No. 11 Yavapai

The top-ranked College of Southern Nevada Coyotes continued their winning ways, sweeping the 11th-ranked Yavapai College Roughriders 6-3 and 5-0 in a doubleheader on Friday at Morse Stadium to complete a five-game season-series sweep of the Roughriders.
In the first game, Bryce Harper blasted a two-run homer over the "Green Monster" in center field – his second long-ball of the season. He went 2-for-3 with a double, home run, and 4 RBIs to lead the CSN offense. Trent Cook was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, and Danny Higa was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Donn Roach (2-0) earned the win, striking out five and walking one in 6 1/3 innings while allowing two earned runs on six hits.
DeMarcus Tidwell, the No. 9-ranked junior college baseball prospect in the nation according to Perfect Game USA, was 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead Yavapai.
In the nightcap, Marvin Campbell hit a two-run opposite-field home run to left-center to lead the Coyotes (8-0) to victory. He finished 2-for-4 with a double and 3 RBIs. Cook had another multiple hit game, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored. Kenny McDowall (2-0) pitched eight innings for the win, striking out eight and walking one while allowing no runs on three hits.
Cam Schiller was 2-for-4 to lead the Roughriders (1-6).
The Coyotes host the 11th Annual Coyote Classic beginning Friday, Feb. 12 with a 3 p.m. contest against Cochise College of Douglas, Ariz.
