Western Undergraduate Exchange
The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) is a program through which students in participating states may enroll in designated two-year and four-year public institutions and programs in other participating states at a special, reduced tuition level. Tuition for WUE students is the regular in-state tuition plus 50 percent of that amount. In all programs, the cost to WUE students is substantially less than nonresident tuition. Students do not need to demonstrate financial need to receive the WUE tuition benefit.  WUE participating states in 2006-2007 are:
  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Hawaii
  • Idaho Oregon
  • Montana
  • Nevada
  • New Mexico
  • North Dakota
  • South Dakota
  • Utah
  • Washington
  • Wyoming

How WUE Works
The student applies to the institution of his/her choice, indicating that WUE status is desired. The institution responds directly to the student. The student obtains application materials and submits them to the institution in which he/she desires to enroll. The student must mark prominently on the application for admission that he/she seeks admission as a WUE student.  For more information, checkout their website: Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education
