EDUC 203 Introduction to Special Education
Exploration of services and professional opportunities in the education of exceptional children.  (3 credits)
EDUC 220 Principles of Educational Psychology
The psychology of learning,  motivation, growth  and development, personality, dynamics and social adjustments.  (4 credits)
EDUC 298 Introduction to Gifted Education
Study of  educational programs for gifted children, including identification, characteristics, history, philosophy and programming options.  (3 credits)
EDUC 234 Survey Computer Use in Education
Overview of uses of computers in education, including the use of the computer as a teacher utility, the use of application programs, and the selection and use of educational software.  (3 credits)
EDUC 280 Valuing Cultural Diversity
Introduces pre-service educators to micro-cultures.  Cultural appropriate pedagogical practices, dimensions of  multicultural education and educational implications of diversity emphasized.  (3 credits)
EDUC 210 Nevada School Law
This course is designed to acquaint prospective teachers with the legal aspects of  the school setting.  (2 credits)
Paraprofessional Courses
EDUC 112B Effective Classroom Management
This course will provide an introduction to classroom management, lesson planning, and student behavior.  (3 credits)
EDUC 114B Asst Lang Art/Lit Instruction
An introductory course addressing the language arts curriculum and tutoring strategies for assisting in the classroom.  (3 credits)
EDUC 116B Classroom Technology
This course will provide experience with technology commonly used in the classroom.  (3 credits)
EDUC 117B Understanding Special Education
An overview of the basics of special education, including the IEP, IDEA, and related services.  (3 credits)
EDUC 121B Diversity in the Classroom
A course exploring the basic principles of diversity in the schools and strategies for teaching diverse learners. (3 credits)
Praxis Review Courses

Overview of Reading skills related to the Praxis I that would assist the student in learning and applying these skills to successfully complete the Praxis I exam. Education majors are required to pass Praxis I exam before completing their degree program. (1 credit)
