Veterinary Nursing Program

The Veterinary Nursing Program provides students with extensive hands-on experience with many animal species as well as opportunities for clinical medicine and surgery during clinical rotations in the on-campus veterinary clinic.

Why Study Veterinary Nursing at CSN?

The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Nursing trains students to provide a wide range of support to veterinarians from diagnostic imaging, dental hygiene and medical laboratory services to anesthesia, behavioral and radiological assistance.

Graduates may sit for the Veterinary Nursing National Exam, which allows them to then sit for the Nevada Veterinary Technician Exam and other state licensing examinations.

Graduates can move on to further their veterinary education at other institutions or pursue positions working in private practice, zoo medicine, education, medical research, industrial veterinary medicine and more.

Limited Entry Program

NOTE: The Veterinary Nursing Program is a limited entry program.  Students must attend a health programs orientation and meet with a health programs advisor for additional counseling prior to application.

Veterinary Nursing, AAS

The program prepares students with knowledge and skills necessary to provide general veterinary nursing care in the varied disciplines found in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery. Students that complete the program are qualified to sit for state and national examinations and enter into practice as a credentialed veterinary nurse.
