The
son of John and Sherry McClaren, Mike began playing baseball at the age
of 4. Mike was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 2005. Mike has signed
a letter-of-intent to play baseball at the University of New Mexico. He
feels the greatest thrill in sports to date is when a pitcher tosses a
perfect game. A four year varsity athlete in high school, Mike was a member
of Durango's American Legion state championship team in 2004.
