Institutional Accreditation & Accreditation Reports
For copies of CSN Accreditation Reports, please contact the Director of Assessment and Accreditation.
The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) has been continuously accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) since September 1, 1975. NWCCU recognizes higher education institutions for performance, integrity, and quality and expects accredited institutions to comply with the requirements of the Higher Education Act of 1965. This accreditation qualifies CSN and enrolled students to access federal funds to support teaching, research, and student financial aid. CSN is authorized by NWCCU to award Associate and Bachelor degrees.
In Fall 2018, CSN participated in a Mid-Cycle Evaluation and provided follow-up reporting on Recommendations 1, 2, and 3 of the Fall 2015 Year Seven peer Evaluation Report. CSN conducts ongoing assessment in preparation for a Fall 2022 Mission Fulfillment and Sustainability Evaluation.
The new NWCCU standards are effective January 2020 and focus on demonstration of student learning, student achievement, and institutional effectiveness. Standards weblink:
