ATI TEAS Remote Exam with Proctorio

Read this Important Announcement First

TEAS Exams. The ATI TEAS Exam begins Monday, May 19, 2020. Students will resume scheduling appointments with the CSN Testing Center and take the ATI TEAS Exam remotely with Proctorio using their own Internet-connected device. Proctorio is a remote proctoring platform that uses machine learning to proctor students from wherever they may be.  For details, visit https://www.csn.edu/CSN-testing#Nursing.

Note:

  • All previous in-person TEAS exam dates for May and June have been converted to virtual proctoring exam dates.
  • Please visit the ATI website at  www.atitesting.com to register for Proctorio dates for CSN under the “Allied Health” section of testing.
  • ATI is processing refunds for the in-person dates and exams. Please call ATI Customer Care to make sure the time was canceled, and the refund has been processed at 1 (800) 667-7531.

 

What is the TEAS?

ATI TEAS Exam Description

  • The TEAS is a computer-based diagnostic test instrument that is used to assess the preparedness of students applying to enter the health science fields.
  • The test is specifically used to assess prospective students for CSN Health Science Limited Entry (LE) Programs.
  • The TEAS test contains 170 questions written in a multiple-choice format with four-option answers and has a total duration of 209 minutes.
  • The test is designed to assess the necessary academic skills in the subjects of Reading (53 questions for 64 mins.), Math (36 questions for 54 mins.), Science (53 questions for 63 mins.), and English and Language Usage (28 questions for 28 mins.). Things You Should Know Before You Register for The TEAS Exam at CSN

  • The exam is taken remotely/online with Proctorio under the oversight of CSN and ATI.
  • The total cost for the TEAS at CSN is $92.00 (non-refundable fee), paid at the time of scheduling.
  • ATI will automatically send your scores to CSN, having selected the college when you registered. However, you must also include a copy of your scores with your Limited Entry Application.
  • If the ATI TEAS Exam is taken at a location other than CSN you must have the scores officially transferred to CSN. For transfer instructions go to https://www.atitesting.com/ati_store/product.aspx?zpid=942. *Exam scores MUST be received in the Limited Entry Office by application deadline date.  
  • There are no wait periods between test attempts.

  • CSN conducts the TEAS exam on scheduled Saturdays (see test dates below)
    • 8 am to 12 PM (Morning Session)
    • 1 pm to 5 PM (Afternoon Sessions)

How to Register for the ATI TEAS Exam at CSN

Ensure that you have reviewed the “The things I need to know before I register for the ATI TEAS Exam” section (above) before starting the registration process.

  • Step 1: Visit this link: www.atitesting.com/teas-prep
  • Step 2: Scroll to the registration section of the page and click “Start Registration.”
  • Step 3: If you have an existing ATI account, select “Sign In.” If you need to create one, select “Create an Account.”
    • *Note: It is essential to remember your ATI login. You will need this on the exam day. Students who do not have their ATI login will be turned away from taking the ATI TEAS Exam.
  • Step 4: Follow the prompts to complete your registration.

Taking the Exam

Due to COVID 19 outbreak, you will take the assessment remotely with Proctorio using your own Internet-connected device. Proctorio is a remote proctoring platform that uses machine learning to proctor students from wherever they may be.
Required Materials
  • Ensure you are using a fully charged laptop or desktop computer with a webcam and microphone.
  • Install Google Chrome on your device. You will not be able to take the proctored assessment with any other browser.
  • Have a school or government-issued ID card available.
  • Find a well-lit space and be ready for a room scan prior to the assessment.
  • One piece of blank paper to be used during assessment. Please destroy the paper upon completion of the exam.

Taking the Exam

When it’s time for your appointment:

  • Open Google Chrome and Log into your ATI student account: My ATI tab > Test tab.
  • Click the Add Product button and enter the assessment ID that was provided by the proctor.
  • Click Begin to be sent to the getproctorio.com webpage.
    • Follow the prompt to install the Proctorio Chrome Extension; You will only need to do this the first time you take a proctored assessment via Proctorio.
  • Navigate back to the getproctorio.com webpage once extension is installed.
  • Move forward to the exam pre-checks regardless of the error you may see at this point.
  • Click: Start exam prechecks, at the bottom of the page.
    • Allow Proctorio to access your camera, mic, and screen.
  • Click: Next at the bottom of the screen once the prechecks are completed
    • Respond to request to show ID to the camera.
  • Click: Next for the site to conduct a webcam image test and scanning of the room for compromised situation; your room must be well lit in order to move forward
  • Click: I understand (after reading the text)
  • Sign the test taker agreement.
  • Click: Start test
  • Use the Quiz Tool to chat to connect to your proctor if you need help.

Frequently Asked Questions

 

Are Restroom Breaks allowed?

  • Yes, Restroom breaks are allowed.
  • Take Restroom breaks between sections, to ensure that no time is lost, as breaks do not pause the timing when already in a test section.

What do I do when a computer malfunction?

  • If you have technical issues, please alert Proctorio using the phone number provided in the Student Guide sent to you.

What if I have an issue with the exam?

  • Challenges to test questions or testing room complaints should be reported to Proctorio and ATI immediately after the exam.

What about Test Security?

  • The ATI TEAS Remote exam is a secure exam proctored by proctorio. Each test-taker must undertake to take the exam in a responsible, safe, and civil manner per any security policies and academic integrity policies of CSN.
  • A Government ID is required to take the exam.
  • Personal Items are not allowed in the immediate testing area and will be inaccessible during the examination

    • Backpacks
    • Computers
    • Cell phones
      • If a Cell phone sounds or vibrates during the exam, you will be dismissed.
    • Watches
    • And other Items
  • Students are prohibited from discussing content, test questions, or other details relating to the TEAS exam to anyone.
  • Information related to the test is confidential and may not be discussed or revealed to another student.

How many Questions are on the TEAS?

  • The TEAS test comprises of 170 questions in four multiple-choice sections. Each section varies in terms of several items and time to complete that section.
    • Students should plan to be tested for 209 minutes (approximately 3 hours and 29 min)

Will I be able to use a calculator?

  • The test has a built-in calculator. Students are not permitted to use personal calculators.

  • Microphone: Any microphone, either internal or external
  • Webcam: 320x240 VGA resolution (minimum) internal or external.
  • Desktop or laptop computer (NO iPads, tablets, or phones are to be used) with the ability to download Google Chrome.
