Randy Becker first discovered his love of photography in 1973 as a junior in high school when he became a photographer for his high school yearbook and newspaper. Still in high school, he won his first photography award in the Waukegan Photography Contest with a photograph of a chess player contemplating his next move. After spending a year shooting commercially as the staff photographer at the Boulevard Mall in Waukegan, IL Randy left to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Photography at SIU in Carbondale, IL. Randy has taught photography at UNLV and Apollo Technical School, and In 1991, Randy opened his own professional photography studio, whose client list included Levi Strauss and Co., Nathan’s Hot Dogs, Caesar’s Palace, and MGM Grand. In 2003 he began teaching at CSN, and currently serves as Department Chair of the Media Technologies Department. Randy’s photography interests include landscapes, architecture and his 5 grandchildren.
