Professor Beverly Funk was a founding faculty member of the Clark County Community College, now CSN. She was recruited in June of 1971, along with nine other faculty, who moved into the CCCC facilities in July of 1971. Previously, Professor Funk taught Office Administration and co-founded the Women’s Re-Entry Center on what in now called the North Las Vegas Campus. Professor Funk served as Faculty Senate Chair during the 1987-1988 academic year. She was also instrumental in the School to Work Federal Grant program. She retired in 1995 and continued to live life to the fullest. She was a pioneer for women’s rights and for CSN. She will be greatly missed.
Friends, family and colleagues of Professor Funk established the Kara Funk Scholarship to remember her daughter Kara who passed away at 20. Professor Funk lost her son Bryant to Leukemia when he was 12. To keep the memory of the Funk Family, they have renamed Kara's scholarship in memory of the family - all gone too soon.
The Funk Family Memorial Scholarship will provide CSN students with funds to support their education at CSN. Your gift in lieu of flowers is a tax-deductible investment in the future of CSN students.
