HSI/MSI SYMPOSIUM: October 3, 2019 from 9:00am-5:00pm in the Horn Theater at the College of Southern Nevada’s North Las Vegas Campus
PURPOSE: The HSI/MSI Symposium is a one-day conference to address leveraging funding and partnership opportunities for Hispanic and Minority Serving Institutions to advance opportunities for students.
AUDIENCE: Higher education students, faculty and staff; K-12 school administrators; elected officials; community and diversity leaders; nonprofit organizations; education and industry partners.
FORMAT: Day-long symposium with national speakers and panelists and an afternoon Congressional roundtable discussion, followed by an evening reception. Invited speakers/panelists include Nevada's congressional delegation and HSI/MSI leaders from the U.S. Dept. of Education, the Smithsonian Institution, the Library of Congress, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Hosted by the NSHE HSI Task Force. Participating schools: UNLV, NSU, CSN, TMCC, UNR, Desert Research Institue, Great Basin College, and Western Nevada College
