The Criminal Justice Program provides students with knowledge and experience in all facets of the criminal justice system: police, courts, corrections, and social services.

Why Study Criminal Justice at CSN?

The program is designed to offer a concentration in criminal justice that addresses both the legal and professional aspects of the criminal justice network while integrating social and behavioral sciences.

Our associate degree graduates will be prepared to seek entry-level employment in the law enforcement and criminal justice fields or transfer to four-year institutions. Careers open to criminal justice students can include court clerk, juvenile probation officer, private investigator, and social worker, among many others.

Degrees and Certificates

Criminal Justice: AA

The Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice provides a broad overview of the criminal justice system, its subsystems, and the roles of the participants therein. This degree may be used for transfer to a four-year academic institution or may serve as a qualification for public safety or social service positions.

Criminal Justice: AAS

The AAS degree in Criminal Justice is intended to provide students with the skills, abilities, and knowledge needed in order to become criminal justice practitioners or to transfer to other institutions to continue their education.

Criminal Justice: Law Enforcement Training Academy: AAS

This degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement Training Academy (LETA) prepares students for a career as a peace officer with Nevada law enforcement agencies, as prescribed by the State of Nevada, Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST).

Criminal Justice: CA

The Certificate of Achievement in Criminal Justice is intended to provide students with the skills, abilities, and knowledge needed in order to become criminal justice practitioners.

Criminal Justice: Law Enforcement Training Academy, CA

The Certificate of Achievement in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement Training Academy (LETA) Emphasis prepares students for a career as a peace officer with Nevada law enforcement agencies, as prescribed by the State of Nevada, Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST).
