The Fire Technology Program is built on a foundation of fire service experience coupled with advanced technical resources and real-world simulations to ensure that our students receive the education and training needed to prepare them for a career in fire service.

Why Study Fire Technology at CSN?

In addition to the certificates and associate of applied science degree, a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Fire & Emergency Services Administration is available.

Following the nationally recognized Fire & Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) curriculum, our dedicated fire service professionals strive to impart the knowledge and experience they have garnered over their careers to benefit the students of our program.

Degrees and Certificates

FireFire and Emergency Services Administration: BAS

This BAS degree is intended for students who wish to develop their managerial skills and further compliment the technical skills they have already acquired at the AAS degree level. The BAS will open up career pathways and promotional opportunities beyond what an AAS degree will provide. Students will complete additional coursework that has been approved by Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) model curriculum.

FireFire Technology Management: AAS

The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Fire Technology Management is designed to provide students and career fire service personnel with the necessary education and skills required to enter a career or achieve promotion in a municipal, county or state fire department. The course content is designed to meet the National Fire Protection Association’s 1001 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications.

FireFire Science Technology: Fire Fighting: CA

The Fire Fighting certificate is designed for students who desire to enter a career in a municipal, county, or state fire department. The material is linked with the Nevada State Fire Marshal’s Nevada Firefighter I Certificate. Students are given the opportunity to take the Nevada and National Fire Protection Association’s Firefighter I didactic and practical test.
