Paralegal Studies Program

The employment of paralegals and legal assistants is projected to grow 12 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations.

Why Take Paralegal Studies at CSN?

The Paralegal Program is designed to prepare students to serve as legal professionals in private law practice, corporate practice, and public practice. General legal coursework is combined with thorough preparation in legal procedures, research, and writing to provide high-quality legal services under the direction of an attorney. Substantive law is combined with thorough preparation in legal procedures, research methodology, and practical knowledge.

The program also provides opportunities for those who already hold an associate or baccalaureate degree and/or are already employed in law-related occupations to improve and supplement their existing skills with the Certificate of Achievement. It is a program of study which qualifies its graduates to be employed in law and business-related occupations, including private law firms, corporate departments, and government entities. Substantive law is combined with thorough preparation in legal procedures, research methodology, and practical knowledge.

The College of Southern Nevada is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. The Paralegal Program at CSN is a member of the American Association for Paralegal Education, a national organization that promotes high standards for paralegal education.
