First Year Experience (FYE)

You’ve passed the tests; you’ve made the grade — but how will you meet people? Which classes should you take? How do you champion your experience?

FYE is designed for all incoming first-year students to be introduced to the College of Southern Nevada.

FYE supports CSN's "students first" focus on graduation, completion, transfer & prosperity.

NEW STUDENTS: GET REGISTERED NOW BEFORE CLASSES FILL UP!

Come to one of our Fall 2022 Registration Events and get assistance from CSN staff with enrolling into classes. At the events you can:

Get enrolled and leave with a Fall 2022 schedule in hand
Talk with a representative from the Financial Aid Department
Get help with removing completed holds from your account
Meet with an Academic Advisor (Health Advisors may not be present at all events)

Students First Stations are a great resource when you have a quick question and need immediate assistance!

The Students First Stations are hosted by a CSN "Coyote Concierge" who can provide support, refer students and families to campus resources, and assist with connecting students to what they need for success at CSN.

For real-time live help in a virtual setting, set up an appointment with FYE Students First Station.

FYE Peer Leader Role

Coyote Concierge Role

When each new student begins their CSN experience, they can connect with another CSN student - an FYE PEER LEADER - who is trained to help new students transition into life in college and at CSN!

FYE Peer Leaders strive to build a mentoring relationship with new students, serving as a support system here at CSN.

The FYE Peer Leaders provide an insider track to the community, share the plethora of resources available, and connect new students to answers they may need in the first year and beyond.

New Student Orientation

Have a successful start at CSN. Through our student orientation events available online, we'll answer your questions, connect you to campus resources, and help you make the most of your college experience.

All students new to CSN (including transfer students) must complete the new student ONLINE orientation.

Complete the required new student online orientation (required).

Login to GoCSN with your CSN Student username and password
Select the New Student Orientation App and complete the course
