GENERAL INFORMATION

CSN maintains three (3) Mail Service locations with hours of operations of Monday thru Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm:

North Las Vegas, Building F, Room 108

West Charleston, Building P, Room 100

Henderson, Building B, Room 212

  • Mail Services performs a daily mail run to deliver and collect interoffice and postal mail at each mail stop.
  • CSN also has a daily courier service. The courier departs the West Charleston Campus each morning and stops at each main and satellite campuses within the valley, Nevada State University, and University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).

INCOMING MAIL

» Incoming postal/USPS mail should reflect the department, employee name, and the mail stop. Please request this information to be included on any correspondence when possible.

Should mail be received with insufficient contact information, Mail Services will research to identify the appropriate destination. This may delay delivery.

Personal mail is not accepted and may be returned to sender. Please do not use the college address for personal mail or packages.

» To avoid delays with interoffice mail, please include the recipient’s name and/or department, and the mail stop.

Employees should notify Delivery Services in the event of a change in department, campus, or mail stop.

OUTGOING MAIL

» All outgoing mail will be picked up from each mail stop during the daily mail runs. There are also mail drop boxes at each main campus location listed below that are checked daily:

  • NLV, Building N, Room 147.
  • WC, Building C, Room 138 hallway.
  • HN, Building B, Student Services Area Lobby.

» In order for Delivery Services to apply postage to USPS mail, the mail must bear an official College of Southern Nevada return address.

» Delivery Services does not provide mailing envelopes, boxes, or other packaging supplies other than what is provided free of charge from the USPS.

  • Department envelopes can be ordered through Printing Services.
  • Boxes and other packaging material will need to be sourced or purchased through a supplier like Office Depot.

» Delivery Services does not sell postage or stamps. For current pricing and mailing guidelines from the USPS, please visit USPS.

» College mail will have postage applied by our automated postage machines and delivered to the United States Postal Service by our staff daily. Delivery Services will recharge departments for postage that exceeds the daily allowable amount of $50.00.

» Unless otherwise requested, Delivery Services will use the most economical rate of postage for all outgoing mail.

OUTGOING INTEROFFICE MAIL

» Delivery Services can provide you with empty interoffice envelopes upon request.

» Employee locations can be found in the Outlook search and sometimes Workday.

» For department locations, please see the Campus Departments and Mail Stops in the Forms and Documents section of the Delivery Services webpage.

» You may also contact Delivery Services to inquire on a department or employee mail stop.

» Ensure any previous mail stop or other contact information is marked over by a marker when addressing your interoffice envelope.

BULK (MARKETING) MAILINGS

CSN’s Delivery Services are fully automated, making the process of sending large mailings efficient while saving money.

CSN holds a Non-Profit permit through the United States Postal Service (USPS). This allows qualified mail pieces to be mailed out at a discounted rate. To receive this discounted rate the following is required:

» Mailing must be a minimum of 200 addresses.

» Each piece must weigh less than 16 ounces.

» Mail pieces must be identical in size, weight, and content. It cannot contain any of the following:

  • Personal information such as Student ID numbers.
  • Billing statements.
  • International addresses.

«» Important information to remember when planning a large mailing«»

  1. Be sure to communicate with a Mail Services Technician when planning your mailing.
  2. Pre-order your window envelopes, postcards, or fliers with the bulk mail indicia through Printing Services. Please note that Printing Services usually requires several days to print materials for a large mailing.
  3. Large mailings cannot be processed and mailed out the same day. Please allow (3) three business days for Mail Services to process and to deliver to the Post Office.
  4. USPS usually processes large mailings the next business day, please allow 1 – 3 calendar days for recipients to start receiving the mail pieces.

» Delivery Services will recharge for all bulk mailings through the Journal process in Workday. Current per piece costs are listed below and are subject to change:

  • ~$.17 per piece non-profit rate postage
  • $.01 per piece for folding
  • $.01 per piece for inserting mail pieces into envelopes
  • $.01 per tab, per piece for tabbing
  • Printing Services will have additional charges for ordering and printing of envelopes and mail pieces.

FEDERAL EXPRESS

Please contact Delivery Service to assist with preparing and/or picking up any outgoing Federal Express envelopes, packages, or boxes.

CAMPUS DISTRIBUTIONS

If your department has a college sponsored handout or flier you wish to distribute throughout the college community, Delivery Services can assist.

» Please provide the product to Delivery Services at your campus or request Printing Services to deliver to us. Provide instructions on who you wish the pieces to be delivered to. There are (5) five classes of employees that can be specified for distribution purposes:

  • Classified
  • Administrative (AVP and higher)
  • Professional Faculty (this includes deans, counselors, department chairs)
  • Academic Faculty (full-time professors and instructors)
  • Adjuncts (part-time and LOA)

Delivery Services can provide an approximate count for each class and for each campus upon request. This will aid in your request for printing. We can also work with Printing Services to prepare interoffice distributions to include employee name, department, and mail stop directly onto the distribution pieces.

» If you will are creating and applying preprinted labels onto your distribution, please ensure and include the following:

  • Full employee name
  • Department
  • Mail Stop
  • Sort your distributions by campus.
  • Delivery Services requires at least (1) one business day to complete a distribution once we have received the product.

Where can I find CSN Mail Stops for a particular location?

Refer to the list of Campus Departments and Mail Stops for each CSN campus or Academic Learning Center (ALC).

You can also find individual employee mail stop information from the Search function in the ‘TO’ field in Outlook.

How can I obtain more interoffice envelopes?

Can I receive my personal mail and packages at my work location? 

No. CSN Delivery Services only handles mail that relates to college business. Please have all personal mail or packages delivered to your home address.

You may deposit sealed, addressed, and stamped or postage paid personal mail into your department’s outgoing mail receptacle or a campus mail drop box.

NOTE: CSN and Delivery Services are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal mail once it leaves campus.

When does the mail arrive at my campus?

Refer to the Daily Courier Route timetable in the 2023 Delivery Services Guide as well as the Mail Services page for information related to each main campus.

Do you sell stamps or mailing supplies?

No. Delivery Services does not handle any monetary transactions. We do not provide stamps, postage, or mailing supplies. We also cannot weigh personal mail or packages to advise on postage fees.

Where is my mail?

Please be aware that if your mail or package that is mailed through the USPS does not have a tracking number, we will not be able to track it for you.
