Did you know the Nevada Promise Scholarship is a unique scholarship established by the Nevada Legislature for Nevada high school graduates to attend community college? Mentors are a critical part of the Nevada Promise Scholarship and a strong support structure is key to help students find success in higher education. Students! Would you like to explore your career options in the biomedical field and improve your academic skills while earning money this summer? The Biomedical Exploration workshop is a paid five-week program that gives students the opportunity to explore and prepare for a possible career in the biomedical sciences. During the program students will have the opportunity to: • Learn about real careers in medicine and biology • Meet with and talk to scientists and biomedical professionals • Take exciting and informative field trips • Learn valuable lab skills focusing on molecular biology • Participate in skill-building activities to help prepare for upper-division science courses Participants will receive $1,400 upon completion of the workshop!
