Students will earn I-CAR (Industry Council for Automotive Repair) certification points in 26 different areas, including customer service, estimating, welding, plastics and paint and refinish. The Certificate of Achievement in Engineering Technology, Utilities-Electrical Power is an 18-month program that provides students with classroom and laboratory experiences in electricity, mechanical power, pneumatics, hydraulics, and ferrous and non-ferrous material.  This utilities certificate focuses on those skills used in operational settings.  Courses include Industrial Electricity, Mechanical Power Transmission, and Fluid Power.  There are also a number of electives that allow students to focus on electrical maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or plant/facility operation in the power utility industry.

This degree prepares students to supervise and manage the maintenance, capital improvements, and daily operations of commercial and light industrial facilities.  Students will learn facilities-related technologies and construction codes, as well as how to maintain a facility over time; will be skilled in basic business managerial tactics and strategies; and will be prepared for employment as facility managers, facility construction managers, facilities project managers, and other supervisory positions in the facilities industry.
