The Medical Coding Program is designed for students to become coding specialists with demonstrated knowledge and skills in applications of classifications and nomenclatures to health information.  Coding with approved classification systems is required for direct patient care, research, and reimbursement.  Graduates of the program may apply to take a national certification exam given by the American Health Information Management Association.  Credentials that can be earned are the:
