Great NV ShakeOut

At exactly, 10:17 a.m. on October 17, CSN, DRI, NSC, and UNLV will be participating in the Great Nevada ShakeOut. Participants are instructed to DROP to the ground, take COVER, and HOLD ON for 60 seconds. **Please note: An Emergency Alert will be sent out to all platforms, signaling the start of the ShakeOut drill. Take a photo during the drill of yourself, your friends, or co-workers practicing DROP. COVER. HOLD ON. and share it with University Police Services for a chance to win a $25 Amazon gift cards. Emergency Alert System TEST

University Police Services will be testing all on-campus emergency notification systems, across College of Southern Nevada, Nevada State College, and University of Nevada, Las Vegas campuses, which may include: • SMS text, voice call, and/or e-mail alert. • Posts to campus and/or University Police Services’ Facebook & Twitter pages: @UPDSouth, @CSNCoyote, and @NevadaState. • Desktop computer, public monitors, and VOIP office phone notifications. • UNLV RebelSAFE App push notifications and CSN MobileSAFETY App feed notifications. • A voice notification via outdoor RebelSAFE emergency phones on UNLV’s campus. • An emergency information banner on UNLV’s main website. It is important to note that this alert is only a practice drill of the systems and not an actual emergency. Register Today: 4-Day RAD Self-Defense Training

R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) classes are intended to teach participants to take an active role in their own self-defense and psychological well-being, by helping women feel safer and better prepared on campus. The 12-hour course is broken into a 4-day training in which participants acquire self-defense education through realistic tactics and techniques. Classes are open to all female students, faculty, and staff. Register for the sessions taking place at UNLV on: Tuesday, May 21, Thursday, May 23, Tuesday, May 28, and Thursday, May 30 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. This is a 4-day course. Attendees must attend all four sessions.
