Dental assistants are primarily employed in private dental offices but may work in public clinics, hospitals, and dental schools. The curriculum includes classroom and laboratory experience in dental sciences, dental materials, radiology, chair-side assisting, and dental office management. In the student's last semester, the student will be placed in at least three clinical sites where they must complete 300 hours of clinical experience.
