ICYMI: #CSN was awarded a $6.9M federal grant for a workforce training facility that will teach skills for high-paying jobs across the valley! The grant will fund the construction of the Westside Workforce Education & Training Center, a partnership between CSN and the city of Las Vegas and the facility will house manufacturing, welding, computer and health care laboratories, classrooms and office space. The Nevada State Apprenticeship Council’s recent approval of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Registered Apprenticeship program under the sponsorship of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), the Governor’s Office of Workforce Innovation (OWINN) announced an exciting partnership with the City of Mesquite to bring this critically important high-demand occupational training program to its community. CSN celebrated the Center Nursing Assistant Apprenticeship program yesterday. The Apprenticeship Program consists of time divided between a lecture class online, a CNA Lab at CSN and clinical classes twice a week. #CSN #StudentsFirst

More than 120 scholarship opportunities, totaling over $300,000, are available to CSN students. Did you know that students may apply for multiple scholarships by completing one online application and are automatically matched with scholarships for which they are qualified? Each scholarship has its own specific purpose and eligibility criteria according to the recommendations of the donor. If awarded, students will be notified in May and CSN Financial Aid will work to disperse awards to student accounts in Fall 2022. It is important to note that this alert is only a practice drill of the systems and not an actual emergency. In the event of an emergency, these platforms will be used to notify you of the incident and provide information and instructions.
