Hi everyone. Just a quick note to let you know that the Registrar's office will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, July 9, for staff development.

Student counseling, the cashier’s office, financial aid and the registrar’s office are now open Monday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and from Tuesday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This change started Nov. 9th.

You may have noticed some remodeling going on in the financial aid and registrar's offices on all three campuses over the last few weeks. Good news, guys. It's all done and everything's back open as of today. :)

Next week, MyCSN will be down for several days starting Thursday for a major makeover. Please make plans for earlier in the week. Please note: Registrar, Financial Aid & Advising will be closed during the outage. The Cashier's Office will close at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 3.

CSN now offers free UNLIMITED tutoring! Students interested in one-on-one tutoring through the Office of Tutorial Services will continue to need to set up tutoring appointments. Students can learn more about how to set up tutorial appointments by visiting www.csn.edu/tutoring. Students can also learn about the other tutorial resources that are available through “drop in” labs and centers by visiting this same tutorial services website.

More than 120 scholarship opportunities, totaling over $300,000, are available to CSN students. Did you know that students may apply for multiple scholarships by completing one online application and are automatically matched with scholarships for which they are qualified? Each scholarship has its own specific purpose and eligibility criteria according to the recommendations of the donor. If awarded, students will be notified in May and CSN Financial Aid will work to disperse awards to student accounts in Fall 2022. CSN President Federico Zaragoza issued the following statement on the passing of Assemblyman Tyrone Thompson: “I am immensely saddened to hear of the passing of Assemblyman Tyrone Thompson. He was a tireless advocate for education and was a tremendous friend to the College of Southern Nevada. An advocate for underserved children, Assemblyman Thompson understood the positive impact a mentor can have on a student, and authored legislation to create the Nevada Advisory Commission on Mentoring. He worked with CSN on many projects, including organizing the first ever Mentoring Matters Summit in 2017. He also welcomed myself and dozens of CSN students into his assembly office during CSN Day at the Legislature, where he shared his wisdom and his time with our students. His legacy on higher education is admirable and he will be missed. During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.”

The Nevada State Apprenticeship Council’s recent approval of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Registered Apprenticeship program under the sponsorship of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), the Governor’s Office of Workforce Innovation (OWINN) announced an exciting partnership with the City of Mesquite to bring this critically important high-demand occupational training program to its community. CSN celebrated the Center Nursing Assistant Apprenticeship program yesterday. The Apprenticeship Program consists of time divided between a lecture class online, a CNA Lab at CSN and clinical classes twice a week. #CSN #StudentsFirst
