Students may apply for multiple scholarships by completing one online application and are automatically matched with scholarships for which they are qualified. Registration for Fall Science, Math Classes Unavailable Until June 6th. Due to the conversion of posted grades from our old student information system to MyCSN, registration for Fall 2011 math and science classes is delayed. These classes are blocked until June 6th to prevent any registration so all students have an equal opportunity to enroll after this delay. Please consult with the registrar for more information.

Today at 10:00 a.m., University Police Services will be testing all on-campus emergency notification systems, across all College of Southern Nevada campuses, which may include: • SMS text, voice call, and/or e-mail alert. • Posts to campus and/or University Police Services’ Facebook & Twitter pages: @UPDSouth and @CSNCoyote • Desktop computer, public monitors, and VOIP office phone notifications. • CSN MobileSAFETY App push notifications. • An emergency information banner on UPD and/or campus websites. It is important to note that this alert is only a practice drill of the systems and not an actual emergency. In the event of an emergency, these platforms will be used to notify you of the incident and provide information and instructions. In the event of an actual alert, you should seek a safe location and monitor media reports, e-mails, computer monitor screens, and emergency texts. To learn more or to update your contact information, visit updsouth.nevada.edu and select your campus location for further instructions. CSN now offers free UNLIMITED tutoring! Students interested in one-on-one tutoring through the Office of Tutorial Services will continue to need to set up tutoring appointments. Students can learn more about how to set up tutorial appointments by visiting www.csn.edu/tutoring. Students can also learn about the other tutorial resources that are available through “drop in” labs and centers by visiting this same tutorial services website.

CSN President Federico Zaragoza issued the following statement on the passing of Assemblyman Tyrone Thompson: “I am immensely saddened to hear of the passing of Assemblyman Tyrone Thompson. He was a tireless advocate for education and was a tremendous friend to the College of Southern Nevada. An advocate for underserved children, Assemblyman Thompson understood the positive impact a mentor can have on a student, and authored legislation to create the Nevada Advisory Commission on Mentoring. He worked with CSN on many projects, including organizing the first ever Mentoring Matters Summit in 2017. He also welcomed myself and dozens of CSN students into his assembly office during CSN Day at the Legislature, where he shared his wisdom and his time with our students. His legacy on higher education is admirable and he will be missed. During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.”

ICYMI: #CSN was awarded a $6.9M federal grant for a workforce training facility that will teach skills for high-paying jobs across the valley! The grant will fund the construction of the Westside Workforce Education & Training Center, a partnership between CSN and the city of Las Vegas and the facility will house manufacturing, welding, computer and health care laboratories, classrooms and office space. Vital medical information can often be hidden under the surface, so CSN paramedic medicine students are getting a peek under the skin with the use of new life-saving portable ultrasound devices. The students are the first in the state to receive training on the devices, due to a partnership with Valley Health Systems Graduate Medical Education program and a grant from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
