The Certificate of Achievement in Business Management provides students with the understanding and knowledge necessary for managing people and functions. Decision making for both private and public sector agencies is stressed in the program. Students will learn basic principles of management and human relations skills through various interactive course techniques and formats.

Students must be indentured in the Cement Masons Apprenticeship Program before enrolling in classes. Special consideration will be given students who complete the Cement Mason Apprentice Associate of Applied Science Degree if they are affected by the retroactive six year rule. Our courses cover public speaking, interpersonal communication, group communication, intercultural communication, film criticism, survey of rhetorical studies, survey of communication studies, argumentation and debate, and a variety of special topics within the discipline.

This degree prepares students to supervise and manage the maintenance, capital improvements, and daily operations of commercial and light industrial facilities.  Students will learn facilities-related technologies and construction codes, as well as how to maintain a facility over time; will be skilled in basic business managerial tactics and strategies; and will be prepared for employment as facility managers, facility construction managers, facilities project managers, and other supervisory positions in the facilities industry.
