Students must take a pre-test to determine class placement.Program ServicesEnglish as a Second Language (ESL)ESL classes empower beginning, intermediate, and advanced level students with the necessary skills for communication in real-life situations as well as the ability to succeed in a professional work environment.Students will first take a one-week introductory class to review workplace skills, learning styles, and study skills amongst other items.Once in class, students will learn skills such as how to make phone calls, talk to a doctor, or fill out forms as well as learn workforce readiness skills.High School Equivalency (HSE)HSE courses prepare students for their GED/HiSET to master language arts skills and mathematics skills, while exploring career and workplace skills.Students will first take a one-week introductory class to review workplace skills, learning styles, and study skills amongst other items.Students develop a positive attitude toward mathematics, problem solving skills, and the ability to use mathematics in everyday life to pass the High School Equivalency Exam.Courses also focus on revising the paragraph format for unity, cohesiveness, and strong supporting details while reinforcing sentence skills, by introducing the basic five-paragraph essay.
