Encourage Youth Award

The Encourage Youth Award is an aid initiative to support students whose status equates to unaccompanied youth or the possibility of being homeless. 

Award Overview

Term Aid Amount:

  • 15 or more credits: $1,500
  • 12 credits (full time): $1000
  • 9 to 11 Credits $750
  • 6 to 8 Credits $500

Terms Available: Fall and Spring Terms Only. (not offered during the Summer Term).  

No application process for Encourage Youth award program  

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Enrolled at CSN in an eligible degree or certificate.
  • Must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  • Classified as a Nevada Resident by CSN’s Registrar  
  • Must complete current year FAFSA application
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of half-time.
  • Student status is approved by one or more of the following: CCSD Title 1 Hope, HUD documentation, or the Foster Tuition waiver.

 Application Steps: 

  • The student does not need to apply; eligible students will be identified and awarded each term.

Scholarship Notification Timeline: 

  • Recipients will be notified through MyCSN Communication Center - Aid Notification or via email approximately 2 months from the student’s semester start date.
