Spring Break Scheduling Policy
Policy Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to align the College of Southern Nevada’s (CSN) spring break with that of the Clark County School District (CCSD) when appropriate.
Policy Statement
CSN’s spring break will be held the same week as CCSD’s spring break. If CCSD’s spring break falls after the 13th week of CSN’s 16 week semester, then CSN’s spring break will be held during the 9th week of the 16 week semester.
Procedure
When creating the academic calendar for any given year, the Director of the Office of Curriculum and Scheduling will determine whether CCSD’s spring break falls during the period of time specified in Section II of this policy. If it does, the Director will schedule CSN’s spring break to align with CCSD’s spring break week. If CCSD’s spring break falls outside of the period of time specified in Section II of this policy, then the Director will schedule CSN’s spring break for week 9 of the 16 week semester.

The president has the discretion to suspend or rescind all or any part of this policy or related procedure(s). The president shall notify the appropriate CSN personnel, including the Executive Sponsor and shared governance leaders, of the suspension or rescission.
