Am I guaranteed a degree from College of Southern Nevada?
No. Sending your transcript to the College of Southern Nevada does not guarantee the granting of a degree. The courses you take at your four-year institution will be evaluated by the College of Southern Nevada. CSN will determine the conferral of an associate’s degree.
How much does reverse transfer cost?
There may be a few costs associated with reverse transfer. CSN does not charge you for the reverse transfer process. Your transfer institution may charge you a transcript request fee. You also may be required to take additional courses to complete your associate degree plan.
Which associate degree am I eligible for?
If you're unsure which degree you are seeking or are eligible to earn through reverse transfer, meet with an advisor to discuss your options. Students are first evaluated for Associate of Business, unless their completed courses direct them in another direction (Associate of Science, Associate of Arts, or Associate of General Studies).
Can I take the required courses at my four-year institution, or must I return to CSN?
You do not have to return to CSN to complete courses if you can take them at your four-year transfer institution. Meet with a CSN academic advisor to make sure the courses taken are transferable and applicable to your associate degree.
Do I need to be currently enrolled at CSN or a four-year institution?
No. Meet with a CSN academic advisor to determine which courses you still need to finish your associate’s degree.
Can I participate in CSN’s commencement ceremony after earning my degree?
Earning a degree is a major accomplishment. An advisor can assist you in applying for graduation when all program requirements are complete. Every year CSN holds a May commencement ceremony where not only spring graduates participate, but also summer and fall graduates from the previous year are welcomed to participate. Contact Contact Us for more information regarding applying for graduation.
Am I guaranteed an associate degree if my university major is the same as the degree offered by CSN?
No. You will be awarded your associate degree from CSN if your combined credits satisfy your degree requirements, and you meet all graduation requirements. Through reverse transfer, each associate degree is subject to the available degrees offered by the college as well as CSN residency requirements.
