Step 3: Send Your Official Transcripts
To receive transfer credit, CSN must receive official transcripts from every college, university, or institution you previously attended.

International Transcripts
If you attended a school outside the United States, you must first obtain a course-by-course evaluation from a member of NACES before CSN can evaluate your transfer credit.
Will My Credits Transfer?
CSN accepts transfer credit from institutionally accredited colleges and universities for coursework that is comparable to courses offered at CSN.
Step 4: Credit Evaluation
Once all official transcripts have been received, the Office of the Registrar will review your coursework and determine eligible transfer credit.
What to Expect
- Apply to CSN before requesting an evaluation.
- Submit transcripts as early as possible.
- Additional course descriptions may be requested.
- You'll receive an email once your evaluation is complete.
Processing Time
Most transfer credit evaluations take approximately 4–8 weeks.

Transfer Student FAQ
You are considered a transfer student if you have earned college credits after graduating from high school or if you are pursuing an additional degree after attending another college or university.
As early as possible. Students should begin researching programs and requesting transcripts several months before their intended start term.
This gives students an immediate visual understanding of the process and significantly improves usability over long blocks of content.
Credits that transfer to CSN may apply toward degree requirements; however, grades and GPA earned at another institution generally do not transfer into your CSN GPA. Your CSN GPA is established by coursework completed at CSN.
Contact the Registrar's Office at each institution you attended and request that official transcripts be sent directly to CSN.
The number of transferable credits varies based on program requirements, course equivalencies, and institutional accreditation. The Office of the Registrar will determine the final amount of transferable credit during the evaluation process.
CSN has an open-access admissions policy. However, transfer credit eligibility may depend on course grades and institutional policies.
Most evaluations are completed within 4–8 weeks after all required documents have been received.
Important Transfer Credit Policies
Residency Requirement
To earn a CSN degree or certificate, students must complete a minimum of 15 credits in residence at CSN.
Transfer Grades
- "D" grades may transfer as elective credit in certain circumstances.
- Transferability depends on cumulative GPA and program requirements.
- D+, D, and D− grades cannot satisfy many major-specific requirements in Associate of Applied Science programs.
