State law defines the requirements of the Nevada Promise Scholarship (SB391). The same law provides an applicant the opportunity to appeal a disqualification decision made by a college. If you believe you met a requirement, or something outside your control kept you from meeting it, you can submit an appeal and ask for another review.
Please note: The Appeal decision granted by the Appeals Committee is Final.
How to Appeal
- Submit the NV Promise Scholarship Appeal Form.
- Write a detailed statement explaining why you missed the requirement deadline.
- Attach supporting documents that back up your statement (see the table below for what to include).
- Submit before the appeal deadline. Late appeals are denied.
Is your appeal missing something? We'll email you, and you'll have 2 weeks to send the missing items. If you miss that deadline, the committee will review your appeal as it is and make a final decision.
Where to look for updates: We'll email decisions and updates to both your personal email and your CSN student email.
If your appeal is approved, you still need to complete all Nevada Promise eligibility steps required by law.

- During the initial review, it is determined if the appeal is complete and ready for the committee.
- If the appeal is deemed as incomplete, an email will be sent to the student advising of a two-week deadline to submit any missing documentation.
- If the deadline is missed, the appeal will be reviewed by the Committee, as is.
- Final Review by Appeals Committee – 2-3 weeks from date appeal is deemed to be complete.
- Once the appeal is complete the appeal will be reviewed by the Committee and granted a final decision of Approved or Denied.
- A Complete Appeal: includes a statement and supporting documentation.
- An Incomplete Appeal: missing documentation or a statement, if the Initial Review deadline is missed, the appeal will be reviewed as is.
